Public Montessori Initiative was founded by Courtney McWilliams, who spent nine years as Executive Director of Oregon's largest Montessori school after more than twenty-five years in corporate leadership.
PMI started by solving the problem schools felt most urgently: filling hourly staffing gaps with people schools could actually trust. That work has since grown into something larger — building the leadership and training pipelines the movement needs for the long run.
